A simple start.
We opened in 2015 with a coffee machine and an ice cream freezer. Customer requests helped shape what came next: postcards, maps, local treats and gifts.

Our little place
by the lake.
Since 2015, we’ve been a small, independent shop in Waterhead, Ambleside. We’ve grown from a coffee machine and an ice cream freezer into a place for local treats, thoughtful gifts and friendly conversation. We choose the products; brilliant makers such as Lakes Ice Cream and Romney’s make them.
We serve the ice cream and prepare the drinks. We also bring together gifts and treats from other makers, including Lakes Ice Cream and Romney’s. Their craft, our selection.

Starting again.
Flooding brought an early challenge to our shop. Rebuilding the shop became part of our story, and a reminder of how much this little place means to us.

Still personal.
We’re still a small independent shop. A good product, a helpful conversation and a little local knowledge remain at the heart of what we do.
